The title “Georgia dispensaries to start selling THC products” can be rewritten as “Dispensaries in Georgia to commence selling THC products.”
Georgia becomes the first state to sell medical cannabis in dispensaries. The Georgia Board of Pharmacy has processed applications from nearly 130 local pharmacies seeking to sell cannabis products.
This is what you can read in various U.S. media outlets. In the coming weeks, the products will be available at several dispensaries, said Gary Long, CEO of Botanical Sciences and one of only two licensed marijuana distributors in Georgia. State law requires THC products to contain less than 5% THC. Therefore, products that are packaged and sold must meet those standards.
Availability of THC products
This change facilitates the marketing of these drugs. It increases availability and thus accessibility for patients. In 2015, Georgia became the 26th state to legalize medical marijuana. It has now become a pioneer in the medical cannabis industry. Botanical Sciences says they have already signed agreements with more than 130 local pharmacies across the state, increasing access for patients. Long: “We want to collectively make sure that patients can have access to those products, rather than having to go to other states or bring them to market. I think we should keep that as our focus.”
