Medicinal Use of CBD

The first medicinal use of Cannabinoids contained in the Hemp plant that we know of, dates back to approximately 2300 B.C., at which time the Chinese emperor Shen Nung classified Hemp extracts as “Superior Elixirs of Immortality”.

In recent history, Cannabis became an official member of the pharmaceutical repertoire of Europe and America, until its subsequent censorship during the 19th century.

Today it is again a reality and there is copious medical research and anecdotal evidence to support the therapeutic applications of the most important Cannabinoids as the Cannabidiol or CBDwhich is currently marketed in the form of drops, creams, food and beverages.

Therapeutic Uses of CBD or Cannabidiol.

  • For glaucoma: Since 1971, research supports the use of Cannabis orally for Glaucoma.
  • As an antiemetic: In 1990, a Harvard University study revealed its usefulness in chemotherapy processes. For respiratory difficulties: For at least three thousand years, Cannabis extracts have provided relief to asthmatics because of its efficiency as a bronchodilator.
  • As an anticonvulsant: Thousands of people with all types of spasms and convulsions, from Epilepsy, from various forms of paralysis, including paraplegia, quadriplegia, muscular dystrophy and Multiple Sclerosis, as well as neuralgias, witness the unique relaxing effect of Cannabis extracts.
  • As an antibiotic: Cannabinoid Acids effectively inhibit and kill gram-positive bacteria, such as staphylococcus and streptococcus, with topical application recommended in the treatment of penicillin-resistant organisms.
  • As an antiarthritic: Soothes and relieves dry or crooked finger or toe joints, excellent for muscular, tendon and nerve areas.
  • As an antidepressant: In addition to the fact that it does not interfere with any therapeutic measures or psychotherapy, it is patent that many depressive patients who do not respond well to normal treatments find respite in Cannabis extracts.
  • To control inflammation: In recent years, Cannabis extracts have received recognition from physicians for their effect on inflammatory conditions. CBD has also been found to inhibit 90% of erythema.
  • As an analgesic: Scientific research over the past decades, has confirmed that CBD is a safe and effective analgesic for many types of pain.
  • To relieve insomnia: CBD induces sleep effectively and without side effects.
  • For migraine relief: CBD can not only stop the pains, additionally it can prevent attacks.
  • In gynecology: CBD is a valuable remedy in the treatment of mastitis, dysmenorrhea, menstrual and postpartum pain.
  • As an anxiolytic: Oral consumption of Cannabis plant extracts such as CBD and CBN is one of the most common uses of the plant. Both Cannabinoids have been shown to reduce anxiety.
  • For neurodegenerative diseases: CBD can be a great ally when treating diseases such as Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Alzheimer’s and Sclerosis, among others, resulting in significant improvements.
