How Does CBD Help Epileptic Seizures?
CBD and Epilepsy
The CBD or Cannabidiolhas shown some of the most promising and best-known results in the control of seizures derived from the Epilepsy. Severe epileptic seizures are dramatic and can put people’s health in a worrying situation, especially if it is an infant or child.
By receiving the correct amount of the appropriate CBD productMany people experience a significant reduction in seizures and in some cases, seizure cessation altogether.
Due to the interaction of Cannabidiol (CBD) with the Endocannabinoid System, it is possible to alleviate a variety of symptoms associated with Epilepsy. CBD has been so successful in relieving seizures that the first and only medication containing pure CBD approved by the FDA is prescribed to treat severe forms of Epilepsy, such as Dravet and the syndrome of Lennox-Gastautwhich onset occurs during childhood.
A relevant case is that of Charlotte Figi, in which improvements were demonstrated in a severe childhood Epilepsy condition. No treatment seemed to be working for this child, so her parents began giving her CBD Oil in high concentrations. Before long, her seizures went from around 300 per week to two or three per month.
