Full Spectrum CBD VS. CBD Isolate
Full Spectrum CBD VS. CBD Isolate: Which is better? With the diversity of CBD products available on the market, questions inevitably arise about their comparative efficacy. When it comes to comparing full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate, the main difference is obvious. While one is molecularly isolated, the other contains a spectrum of cannabinoids, although it mainly contains CBD.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages. While full-spectrum CBD may be more effective in certain cases, isolated CBD is more pure and completely free of THC. Therefore, choosing between one or the other depends on what exactly you are looking for in a CBD product.
HOW ARE ISOLATED CBD AND FULL-SPECTRUM CBD DIFFERENT?
Both full-spectrum CBD and isolated CBD are derived from hemp. To be considered “hemp”, cannabis plants must contain less than 0.3% THC. The extraction process used to extract CBD from hemp is ultimately what determines whether the final product will be an isolated compound, or full-spectrum CBD.
Full-spectrum CBD is an extract from the whole plant and therefore contains many other cannabinoids and terpenes in addition to CBD. For example, it can contain cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, and CBC, along with a number of terpenes and flavonoids. Instead, CBD isolate is refined to isolate CBD, ensuring that the final product contains nothing but pure cannabidiol molecules.
CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD available. The extraction and filtration processes remove the rest of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and plant matter. At the end of these processes, the isolate is in the form of a crystalline powder and is composed of about 99% pure CBD.
